FREE WOMEN’S PELVIC FLOOR HEALTH WORKSHOP
THURSDAY 29TH SEPTEMBER 5:30PM
THURSDAY 29TH SEPTEMBER 5:30PM
How do you feel about your pelvic floor? Is it strong? Not as strong as it used to be? Overdeveloped? Unreliable? We don't tend to think about our pelvic health until it’s gone.
Like any muscle in the body, your pelvic floor health can be improved with the right knowledge and training. The pelvic floor is a complex structure of muscles and ligaments that support the function of bladder, uterus and bowel. We won't go into details here but you know why these muscles are SO important to your quality of life.
Many issues with the pelvic floor are not widely discussed and are even considered taboo, but they are extremely common. Prolapse is now considered one of the most common health problems in Australia. 1 in 3 women will experience prolapse.
Stress urinary incontinence and urgency urinary incontinence are also extremely common but rarely addressed problems for women. We often associate these issues only with age and pregnancy. But we are starting to learn more about the prevalence of these problems for young, fit women, athletes and ex-athletes.
Olivia Campbell from Southern Coast Pelvic Health Physiotherapy and Pilates will be running our FREE session on women's pelvic health. This workshop will be information focussed rather than physically focused, so your kids and bubs are welcome to come along with you (as long as they can sit quietly and patiently). There will be references to pelvic anatomy and therefore sensitive topics may also be discussed.
Thursday 29th September 5:30pm (first week of school holidays).
