After the turmoil of the last two years we're all craving a RECONNECT.
This exhibition, showcasing local photographers and artists, is all about reconnecting with ourselves, each other, the things we love and the things that bring us together.
Reconnect started off with a bang with our Reconnect Launch Night at The Studio Kiama, which saw over 80 Kiama locals, visitors, friends and family join together for tunes, laughs and art. Our exhibition continues over the next two weeks and we invite you to come take a moment to Reconnect.
A percentage of exhibition proceeds are being donated to:

ADELAIDE MOURD
Adelaide is a photographer and creative based on the beautiful South Coast of NSW. From a young age Adelaide fell in love with visual storytelling and the ability to connect to human experience through imagery. After watching Sean Penn’s, Into the Wild at age 16, Adelaide found herself entranced by how an aesthetic can communicate powerful stories that resonate with the soul.
Adelaide is passionate about visually sharing our human experience, provoking thoughts and feelings, which leave us and our world a little better. Her work in this exhibition focuses on living a slower and more intentional lifestyle. Photography for Adelaide is always a collaborative and documentary style project.
Chasing her passion, Adelaide has a Bachelor of Communications (Media Arts & Production) from UTS, and at 21, began selling photographic prints through a print gallery in Sydney and was pushed to start calling herself an artist. Since then, Adelaide’s work has been featured in Slow Journal, Real Living, Elle Magazine and Selling Houses Australia. It was through these experiences that Adelaide also fell in love with the entire branding and marketing experience. The power of telling a visual story…
50% of profits from the sale of Adelaide’s GG Series will be donated to SurfAid through Gong Gurfers.
PHIL HARMER
Phil is a recently retired, secondary school teacher. After teaching economics to the next generation for over 35 years, Phil has now turned his keen eye to the art of capturing our natural world through the lens of a camera.
Phil is currently focused on getting out into nature, on his own or with his equally passionate partner Ali, and deepening his learning of the art. For Phil, photography is very much about connecting and reconnecting with nature. His favourite locations include Blackheath, Capertee National Park, Blue Gum Swamp in Winmalee and Minammurra Rainforest.
With COVID hitting our social and travel abilities hard in recent years, Phil has become increasingly interested in photographing the native trees and flowers in his own garden and town.
All profits from the sale of Phil’s photos will be donated to the GIVITl NSW & Queensland flood recovery fund.
ALISON HARMER
After a long career as an academic in the health sciences, Alison is looking forward to her retirement, where she can turn her focus to her other passions - photography, the bush, the ocean, rivers, bushwalking, cycling and snorkeling.
Alison loves being immersed in the Australian bush, listening to the sounds, observing and capturing photographs of the flora and fauna, and reflecting on the beauty of the natural world. Alison loves the serendipity of spotting an unlooked-for bird, a rare bird, or quirky bird behaviour. Time seems to be suspended when she is fully immersed in the moment of photographing a bird, although there is often only a brief window of opportunity to compose and focus the image. The increasing fragility and loss of natural habitat and biodiversity weighs on her soul and Alison supports all efforts of conservation and restoration.
Alison has loved the art of photography since she was a child. Her Dad was a keen photographer and when he was young, developed his own photos. No doubt Alison inherited her passion from her Dad. Reconnecting to the bush after her Dad passed away last year, and the COVID-19 lockdowns, brings Alison a measure of joy and peace.
All profits from the sale of Alison’s photos will be donated to BirdLife Australia.
